Oh, how I love the little Pink Purse
. Why is that? And why do so many other women feel the same way as I do? I have a theory with regard to this, and it is two-fold.
Pink purses have become quite popular in the design world and many of the top handbag designers such as Coach
, Gucci
, Dooney & Bourke
, Kenneth Cole
, and Juicy Couture
. All have at least one beautiful pink purse in their collection. I think the reason for this popularity is… because women have come such a long way since the woman’s liberation movement in the last century. Back in the 1970’s women were fighting for equality with men, and therefore, turned their back on their feminine side, as it was a seemingly hindrance to getting equality. Women were trying to prove they could do a job just as well as any man, so they rejected anything that was overtly female, which included anything pink. Women tended to dress in suits and even manly ties. However, now we are in a new century and women have come a long way since those days. Women realized they can be both powerful in business and feminine at the same time. So, the fashion industry began to reflect this.
Another reason I think women love the beautiful pink handbags the designers are creating these days is because it is like a grown-up version of the purses they had as a little girl. The bottom line is these bags are stylish and feminine, beautiful, and coordinate nicely with the popular fashion trends that are today’s fashion.
